Dato’ Anthony Francis Fernandes, better known as Tony Fernandes was born on 30 April 1964. He is a successful entrepreneur in Malaysia and also the founder of Tune Air Sdn Bhd. Tune Air Sdn Bhd is an airline that uses the lowest cost to the customer. Every layer of society, whether wealthy or simply being able to board a plane to go to the destination you want to go. He also uses the slogan "everyone can fly". Various packages have been introduced to attract customers to use the services of Tune Air Sdn Bhd. (usahawan, 2011)

The company was founded by DRB-Hicom. A Malaysian government conglomerate. Its debt burden is too high and only has two Boeing 737-300 planes used to fly only one destination carry 250,000 passengers a year and has only 250 employees. It was sold to Tune Air, chaired by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes  just RM 1 only. Reorganization of Air Asia with the image and takes the concept of low cost has to change in a big and impressive gain in a short time period. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has characteristics of a successful entrepreneur-oriented team. Not with standing any aircraft or as sophisticated computing systems operations used by Air Asia will not mean anything without the employee's move. The success of Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is thanks to his efforts and willing to lease his house to buy the company and settle a debt of RM 40 billion. Events purchase after 11 September 2011 is a period of time a very severe effect on the airline industry so people say Tony Fernandes crazy and Air Asia will go bankrupt. But, enthusiasm and confidence imposed by him made him a successful entrepreneur because willing to take high risks. Now, after 9 years of this company has carried out and the resulted in Air Asia now has secured asset reaches RM 4 billion and posted a profit of RM 549 million.
